Verdant Specialty Solutions, Inc. is looking for a dedicated Chemist for Technical Services to enhance our team at the Halifax West Yorkshire facility. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the Technical Service Manager Europe to deliver essential support for technical operations across Europe and the USA.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Executing designated work programs and providing consistent updates on progress.
- Overseeing the daily activities of interns.
- Upholding laboratory safety standards and representing the Technical Service Laboratory on the Safety Committee.
- Engaging in product synthesis and analysis, as well as formulating surfactants tailored to client specifications.
- Conducting application and performance evaluations on surfactants and formulations.
- Assisting in plant trials for new product introductions.
- Maintaining laboratory and storeroom standards, performing safety inspections, and managing sample preparation and distribution.
- Participating in industry trade exhibitions and client meetings.
Qualifications:
- BSc/MSc Hons in Chemistry or a related field.
- Experience in a relevant industry.
- Strong enthusiasm for applying scientific expertise in commercial contexts.
- Proficient laboratory skills and the ability to work autonomously.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical capabilities.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Possession of a valid UK driving license.
