As a Technical Service Chemist at Verdant Specialty Solutions, Inc., you will be responsible for supporting the Technical Service functions in Europe and the USA. Your key responsibilities will include:

- Carrying out work programs as agreed by Technical Service Managers and reporting back on a regular basis.

- Supervising the work of an intern on a day-to-day basis.

- Ensuring safety in the laboratory on a day-to-day basis and representing the Technical Service Laboratory on the site Safety Committee.

- Synthesizing products in the lab up to 5 Kg scale using existing and new processes.

- Analyzing products using existing site analytical methods in QC lab or industry standard methods.

- Developing and testing formulations and blends of surfactants to meet customer needs.

- Conducting application and performance testing, including testing of physical parameters, of surfactants and formulations.

- Supporting plant trials of new and development products.

- Maintaining lab and storeroom housekeeping standards and ensuring safety checks are completed.

- Obtaining raw materials for use in lab for sampling, synthesis, testing, or formulation work.

- Preparing and dispatching samples, ensuring they are packed and labelled correctly, with the correct paperwork, and meet legal requirements.

- Participating in industry trade shows and customer meetings.

- Requirements:

- A graduate with BSc/MSc Hons Chemistry or equivalent qualifications, and some experience, ideally in an industry related to Verdant activities.

- A strong interest in applying scientific knowledge to practical, commercial situations, and good practical lab skills. Experience in a technical service laboratory will be a distinct advantage.

- Strong mathematical and analytical experiences are essential.

- A self-starter, with the ability to supervise both activities and other employees.

- The ability to communicate confidently and effectively with both internally and externally.

- Demonstrates problem-solving abilities.

- Full/Clean UK driving license.
