About the Role:

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a Young Persons Support Worker for a specialized residential facility designed for children aged 8 to 10 years. You will collaborate with a skilled team of managers and support staff to ensure that each child receives the highest standard of care.

Position Overview:

  • Job Title: Young Persons Support Worker
  • Salary: £31,000 - £33,000
  • Location: Widnes
  • Working Hours: 7.30am - 11pm sleep shifts (2 on, 4 off)

Your Responsibilities:

  • Assist children and young people in their daily activities and interests.
  • Support the leadership team with scheduling, supervision, and managerial tasks.
  • Encourage independence and overall well-being among the young residents.
  • Participate in weekend trips, holidays, and recreational activities with the children.
  • Engage in evening and weekend activities to support their interests.
  • Ensure the safety and welfare of the children by managing risks effectively.
  • Provide both emotional and practical support tailored to the needs of each young person.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of care plans and safety guidelines.
  • Help manage challenging behaviors and foster positive outcomes.

About the Company:

Candidate Requirements:

  • A genuine desire to foster positive outcomes for vulnerable children and adolescents.
  • Empathetic, caring, and resilient character.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in child care or a related social care environment.
  • A valid UK Driving License.
  • Possession of a current Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
