Position Overview


The Centre for Cancer Cell and Molecular Biology (CCMB) at the Barts Cancer Institute (BCI) is in search of a Senior Researcher in Cancer Cell Biology.

We are looking for exceptional candidates to contribute to our dynamic research community focused on utilizing cell and molecular biology to develop groundbreaking cancer therapies.


The successful applicant will be instrumental in enhancing the intellectual engagement of the Centre and the Institute, making significant contributions to research projects and the education of students.

The individual in this role is expected to exhibit research excellence and a strong commitment to teaching, fostering CCMB's vibrant and collaborative atmosphere.


Candidate Profile


Ideal candidates will possess a PhD or an equivalent professional qualification, along with extensive research experience in the fields of cancer and cell biology.

We are seeking individuals with a remarkable research vision in fundamental cancer biology and a focused intent on translating this knowledge into therapeutic advancements.

You will collaborate with a team of researchers exploring various dimensions of cancer's cellular and molecular biology. This role presents a unique opportunity to engage with a department that prioritizes innovation, collaboration, and excellence.


About the Institute


The BCI is recognized as a CRUK Centre of Excellence, dedicated to transforming the lives of individuals affected by cancer through pioneering research in laboratory settings, clinical environments, and population studies.

As one of six institutes within The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, BCI is internationally acclaimed in numerous cancer research domains, merging groundbreaking basic research with the clinical expertise of clinicians and clinician scientists from the Centre for Experimental Cancer Medicine and the Barts NHS Trust to enhance cancer patient care.

BCI is also a partner in the CRUK City of London Major Centre, collaborating with UCL, Kings, and the Francis Crick Institute, recognized as a Centre of Excellence in Biotherapeutics.

BCI is committed to nurturing and developing the next generation of cancer researchers through its comprehensive postgraduate training programs.
