Position Overview


The Centre for Cancer Cell and Molecular Biology (CCMB) at the Barts Cancer Institute (BCI) is on the lookout for a Senior Researcher in Cancer Cell Biology.

We are eager to welcome exceptional individuals to our dynamic research community focused on utilizing cell and molecular biology to uncover groundbreaking cancer therapies.


The selected candidate will be instrumental in enhancing the intellectual environment of the Centre and the Institute, making substantial contributions to research projects and educational initiatives.

Candidate Profile


Ideal applicants will possess a PhD or an equivalent professional qualification, along with extensive research experience in the fields of cancer and cell biology.

We are in search of individuals with a remarkable research vision in fundamental cancer biology and a distinct emphasis on translating this expertise into therapeutic advancements.

You will collaborate with a team of researchers exploring various dimensions of cancer's cellular and molecular biology. This role presents a unique opportunity to engage with a department that prioritizes innovation, teamwork, and excellence.

The BCI is recognized as a CRUK Centre of Excellence, dedicated to transforming the lives of individuals affected by cancer through pioneering research conducted in laboratories, clinical settings, and population studies.

As one of six institutes within The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, BCI is internationally acclaimed in numerous cancer research domains, merging cutting-edge basic research with the clinical expertise of healthcare professionals and clinician scientists from the Centre for Experimental Cancer Medicine and the Barts NHS Trust to enhance cancer patient care.

BCI also collaborates with the CRUK City of London Major Centre (alongside UCL, Kings, and the Francis Crick Institute), which serves as a Centre of Excellence in Biotherapeutics.
