About the Role

The Centre for Cancer Cell and Molecular Biology (CCMB) at the Barts Cancer Institute (BCI) is seeking a Reader in Cancer Cell Biology. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing the intellectual life of the Centre and the Institute, contributing significantly to research initiatives and student education. The post-holder is expected to demonstrate research excellence and a passion for teaching, contributing to CCMB's dynamic and collaborative environment.

About You

Ideal candidates will hold a PhD or equivalent professional qualification and have substantial research experience in cancer and cell biology. We seek individuals with an exceptional research vision in basic cancer biology and a clear focus on translating this knowledge into therapeutic benefits.

You will join a team of researchers working on various aspects of the cellular and molecular biology of cancer. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a department that values innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

About the School/Department/Institute/Project

The BCI is a CRUK Centre of Excellence whose work aims to transform the lives of those with and at risk of cancer through innovative research in the laboratory, in patients and in populations. It is one of six institutes within The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, BCI is internationally renowned in many areas of cancer research and it combines ground-breaking basic research with the expertise of clinicians and clinician scientists from the Centre for Experimental Cancer Medicine and the Barts NHS Trust to achieve improvements in cancer patient care. BCI is also a partner in the CRUK City of London Major Centre (together with UCL, Kings and the Francis Crick Institute) which is a Centre of Excellence in Biotherapeutics. BCI is committed in supporting and developing future cancer researchers through its extensive postgraduate training.
