Uppingham School is in search of a warm and approachable individual with supervisory and cleaning expertise to take on a pivotal role in leading the Domestic Services team.

In this position, you will oversee a team of Domestic Cleaners, ensuring a welcoming environment for students while upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and housekeeping within the boarding facilities.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining cleanliness in boarding houses and central facilities to exemplary standards.
  • Creating and managing cleaning schedules for staff to ensure efficient operations.
  • Providing comprehensive induction training for new team members.
  • Conducting regular inspections of cleaning standards across various areas.
  • Overseeing and managing the inventory of cleaning supplies.
  • Coordinating laundry services in collaboration with the Matron and Houseparent.
  • Supporting and organizing the domestic staff effectively.

To excel in this role, you should possess a solid understanding of cleaning protocols and be capable of working independently. Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines are essential.

Equally important is your ability to interact with colleagues, students, and parents in a friendly and supportive manner.

The working hours are structured from 8:30 AM to 2:25 PM, six days a week, on a rotating schedule.

Additionally, staff members are expected to contribute extra hours during school events throughout the academic year.
