Job Title: Family Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Nurse to join our team at NHS Scotland. As a Family Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing intensive, early intervention home visiting services to eligible first-time mothers aged 20 years and under.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) programme to families from early pregnancy until the child turns 2 years old.
  • Provide home visiting services to young families and individuals in the community.
  • Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with young people and their families.
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for families.
  • Participate in mandatory FNP training and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • First-level registered nurse or midwife with current NMC registration.
  • Awarded a degree at the time of applying for the post.
  • Extensive practice experience of managing a caseload, home visiting young families, and people in the community.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to develop rapid therapeutic relationships with young people.
  • A strong desire to improve outcomes for children and young people.
  • A working knowledge of national and local policies to protect children, including GIRFEC and legislation relating to children and young people.
