Job Title: Family Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Nurse to join our team at NHS Fife. As a Family Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to families with young children.

About the Role

The Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) is an intensive, early intervention home visiting service offered to all eligible first-time mothers aged 20 years and under at LMP. As a Family Nurse, you will visit families from early pregnancy until the first child turns 2 years of age, providing support and guidance to help them achieve better health, social, and educational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality care to families with young children, including home visiting and support
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with families, building trust and confidence
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for families
  • Participate in mandatory FNP training, including residential components, and ongoing professional development
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • First-level registered nurse or midwife with current NMC registration
  • Awarded a degree at the time of applying for the post
  • Extensive practice experience of managing a caseload, home visiting young families, and people in the community
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to develop rapid therapeutic relationships with young people
  • A strong desire to improve outcomes for children and young people
  • A working knowledge of national and local policies to protect children, including GIRFEC and legislation relating to children and young people
