Job Overview

The Housekeeping and Linen Operations Supervisor will assist the Housekeeping and Linen Operations Manager in ensuring that the delivery of domestic and linen services meets the contractual obligations and budgetary constraints set by the organization.

This role involves supporting, monitoring, and enhancing the service to meet the expectations of stakeholders, ensuring compliance with established standards and fostering positive relationships with all parties involved.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will effectively oversee and guide the domestic and linen services team, utilizing available resources to maintain and enhance service quality. Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring cleanliness levels within the facility, ensuring compliance with National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2021 and relevant policies.
  • Coordinating and communicating effectively with various departments within the organization.
  • Maintaining and auditing cleaning standards in accordance with national guidelines and taking corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensuring safe handling of chemicals and equipment by staff under supervision.
  • Managing the distribution of cleaning supplies at the departmental level.
  • Overseeing staffing schedules and ensuring timely completion of remedial tasks.
  • Reporting any necessary repairs to the appropriate channels.
  • Monitoring staff adherence to policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Identifying training needs and organizing appropriate training for staff.
  • Presenting collected data to management to facilitate effective budget management.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate records to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
  • Conducting specialized cleaning tasks as directed by management.

Qualifications

Essential

  • CMI Level 3 Diploma in Team Leadership/Supervision or equivalent experience.
  • Customer Service Level 2 or equivalent experience.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.

Desirable

  • CMI Level 5 or NVQ Level 5 Management Qualification or equivalent experience.

  • Must demonstrate reliability, flexibility, and good personal hygiene.

  • Previous supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team.
