Zachary Daniels recruitment is delighted to be supporting this rapidly growing, global retailer in the appointment of a Food Proposition Manager to bring into their trading team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping and developing the company's various food propositions across their store estate.

Key responsibilities include defining the various food propositions, identifying gaps in the offer, and providing recommendations for addressing these.

Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for enhancing the reputation in food through proposition development and relationships with brand partners and landlords.

They will also be responsible for understanding the profitability of the different food propositions and ensuring the business is optimizing its offer in each location.

The ideal candidate will have a love of food, previous experience in food buying or category management, and strong interpersonal skills.

They will be able to work under pressure, to tight deadlines, and with ambiguity, and have exceptional communication skills, written and verbal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define the various food propositions and identify gaps in the offer
  • Enhance the reputation in food through proposition development and relationships with brand partners and landlords
  • Understand the profitability of the different food propositions and ensure the business is optimizing its offer in each location
  • Use various sources to keep up to date with customer trends and competitor offers
  • Influence and gain support from key stakeholders and teams to continue to enhance the food offer
  • Define the future coffee and breakfast offer/key day part food solutions
  • Coach and support workstreams through to completion
  • Ensure that all change is reviewed, successes are shared, improvements are acted upon, and learnings are carried forward to future propositions
Requirements
  • Food service experience is desirable
  • A love of food with previous experience in food buying or category management
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships and influence at all levels
  • Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
  • Commercially astute, technically savvy, and able to operate independently and take accountability
