Head Chef Opportunity at Rowan Park Care Home

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team at Rowan Park Care Home. As a key member of our care home team, you will be responsible for creating delicious and nutritious meals for our residents, while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement menus that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of our residents
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective kitchen operations
  • Manage food supplies, inventory, and stock levels to minimize waste and optimize resources
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment
  • Collaborate with the Home Manager and Group Executive Chef to plan and cost menus, ensuring optimal use of fresh, seasonal ingredients within budget
Requirements:
  • Culinary qualifications, such as City & Guilds 706 1 & 2, or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong track record of leadership and team management
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and knowledge of food safety practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and external partners
What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary of £37,500 per annum
  • Contracted to 40 hours per week, with alternate weekends
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave, based on a full-time contract
  • Pension scheme and uniform provided
  • DBS paid and onsite parking
