Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Budget Manager to join our team at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. As a key member of our financial team, you will be responsible for overseeing the organization's budget process, implementing accounting best practices, and providing financial analysis and strategic input to facilitate high-level decision-making by management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain accounting procedures to ensure the financial good standing of the organization.
  • Provide financial analysis and strategic input to inform budget decisions and drive business growth.
  • Communicate complex accounting concepts to management and staff, ensuring a clear understanding of financial data and trends.
  • Formulate and develop departmental and organizational budgets, collaborating with financial stakeholders throughout the organization.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key senior leadership and financial stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Report and explain budget decisions to internal financial stakeholders, providing transparent and timely financial information.
  • Support financial stakeholders throughout the budget planning process, ensuring seamless execution and timely completion.
  • Prepare monthly reports for all financial stakeholders and quarterly forecasts for senior management, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Interact with the Grants and Projects staff to ensure proper management and tracking of budgets, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Manage annual salary budget file, ensuring salary increases align with organizational agreements and KPIs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business management, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Budget Analyst, Financial Analyst, Business Accountant, or similar role.
  • Demonstrable record of fostering and promoting organizational growth through effective budget planning.
  • Experience with financial systems, budget management tools, and advanced Excel or computer-based spreadsheets.
  • Excellent training and management skills, with the ability to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels.
