About the Role

The National Composites Centre is a world-leading research and development centre, driving innovation in composite materials. We collaborate with a diverse range of partners to bring novel solutions to industry, with a focus on extreme applications such as nuclear fusion, sustainable aviation, and hypersonic flight.

We are seeking talented individuals to join our Advanced Materials team, who are leading the UK's mission to push the boundaries of composites. Depending on your experience and qualifications, you could join us as a Research Engineer, Advanced Research Engineer, or Principal Research Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ceramics: You will have experience working with ceramic materials and a deep understanding of their properties, benefits, and limitations.
  • Composites: You will have a strong understanding of the materials theory and practice of composite materials, as well as the challenges faced in novel applications.
  • Industrial focus: You will have put your knowledge to the test in an industrial setting or have worked in research and development in an industrial environment.
