Role: Registered Mental Health NurseWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the well-being of individuals within our service.
Responsibilities- Onboarding and Support: Ensure new staff members receive a warm welcome, comprehensive orientation, and the necessary resources to excel in their roles.
- Staff Management: Report staff absences promptly, actively participate in performance development reviews (PDRs), and provide guidance and support to allocated staff throughout the PDR process.
- Service Readiness: Prepare the service for new admissions as directed by the senior management team.
- Legal Compliance: Adhere to the Mental Health Act's statutory requirements, ensuring all relevant documents are completed accurately and filed appropriately.
- Accountability and Standards: Understand and uphold organizational, service, and personal accountability for legislative, contractual, and regulatory standards.
- Inspections and Audits: Participate professionally in external and internal inspections/audits, demonstrating a commitment to high-quality care and service delivery.
- Agency Staff Management: Ensure agency staff on site are fully compliant with documentation requirements, uniform standards, and have received a current induction before accessing the units.
- Senior Nurse Responsibilities: Act as the senior nurse on site as directed, ensuring access to all required information for effective service operation.
- Patient Safety: Continuously promote awareness of safeguarding practices and ensure all patients are protected from abuse. Support staff in raising any concerns to the appropriate individuals.
- Risk Management: Identify and report health and safety issues, risks to patients, colleagues, or the business promptly.
- Confidentiality and Data Protection: Ensure all staff understand and adhere to the organization's confidentiality policy and GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations).
- Communication Policies: Ensure all staff are familiar with and follow the organization's media and telephone policies.
- Professional Growth: Take personal responsibility for ongoing professional development, staying current on mental health legislation, evidence-based practice, and NICE guidance.
- Clinical Environment: Support the senior team in fostering a positive, non-judgmental clinical environment that provides adequate guidance, teaching, and support to care staff, student nurses, and newly qualified nurses.
- Training and Facilitation: Participate actively in training/education programs, utilizing acquired skills and knowledge to educate staff and enhance patient care delivery.
