Anaesthetic Nurse Specialist

Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Anaesthetic Nurse Specialist to join our dynamic Main Theatres and Day Surgery department. As an Anaesthetic Nurse Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in delivering cutting-edge care to patients undergoing a wide range of surgical procedures.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work in a high-energy setting, collaborating with a skilled ensemble of theatre practitioners, surgeons, nurses, and anaesthetists. You will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care under supervision, implementing basic and complex healthcare practices, and ensuring safe techniques in patient and equipment handling.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, including implementing basic and complex healthcare practices.
- Ensure safe techniques in patient and equipment handling, document care accurately, and participate in multi-disciplinary decision-making.
- Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and colleagues, reporting incidents and contributing to team discussions.
- Utilize resources effectively, delegate tasks to junior staff, support peers through preceptorship, and participate in policy development and quality audits.
- Maintain high standards of clinical care, keep patients informed, identify risks, and update clinical skills for ongoing professional development.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a Registered ODP (Operating Department Practitioner) with the HCPC or RN holding a recognised ANAESTHETIC qualification. You will also need to have up-to-date clinical knowledge, experience in an acute setting, and a current Professional Portfolio.
