Financial Management Specialist

A thriving agricultural enterprise is seeking a Management Accountant to enhance its financial operations.
This is a part-time position, offering flexibility with either three days a week or reduced hours spread over five days. The salary will be pro-rated from £35,000 to £38,000, based on a full-time equivalent.
Role Overview:
This newly established position aims to assist the Directors in financial decision-making, prepare internal financial statements, and actively engage in financial, operational, and strategic planning to ensure the company's efficient functioning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily bank reconciliations utilizing the company's QuickBooks software.
- Allocate costs to various centres, departments, and projects to assess weekly Work-in-Progress and project profitability.
- Prepare month-end accruals, prepayments, and depreciation to facilitate timely and accurate financial reporting, including management accounts and variance analysis.
- Support the Directors in managing the company's cash flow and oversee all company bank accounts, including credit cards.
- Handle credit control and produce weekly supplier payment reports.
- Ensure the accuracy of the purchase ledger at period ends, addressing any queries promptly.
- Complete and submit all VAT returns.
- Process payroll submissions to the payroll provider for all staff wages and salaries.
- Reconcile and accurately post all company credit card transactions and staff expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Manage and reconcile petty cash.
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Registers to ensure accurate company records and adherence to accounting policies.
- Assist the Directors in reviewing insurance arrangements to guarantee adequate coverage and manage claims as necessary.
- Collaborate with the Directors and colleagues to ensure capital expenditure projects are well-defined, delivered on time, and within budget.
The employer offers flexibility regarding workdays, considering either three days or reduced hours over five days, with a requirement to be onsite.
