About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Technician to join our team at Exponential-e Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer support to our clients, ensuring service levels are maintained and the ticketing system is up to date within the data centre space.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation of server, network, and storage hardware with associated cabling and patching
  • Perform cabling and patching duties for various client requirements
  • Decommission hardware and prepare for shipping while coordinating with third-party couriers
  • Perform remote hands duties within data centres, including power cycling equipment, replacing failed hardware components, and testing cabling
  • Perform regular checks for network activity, firewall status, and display errors through LED alerts or system monitoring tools
  • Audit work for client cabling and hardware, producing supporting documentation
Requirements
  • Must meet SC and BPSS security clearance vetting and approval requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and making informed decisions
  • Well-organized and self-motivated with the ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Full UK driving license and personal car is essential for this position
  • Logical approach to troubleshooting, problem-solving, and fault diagnosis
  • Ability to take ownership of issues and follow through to resolution
  • Willingness to learn with a friendly, professional, and flexible attitude
