Department / Role Overview

The Markets & Growth (M&G) team at Ashurst is strategically positioned across major cities globally, driving profitable growth within key industries, markets, and client segments. We focus on delivering industry-specific solutions, enhancing the client experience, and executing strategic initiatives to meet evolving client needs.

This role is pivotal in supporting the growth and integration of Ashurst Advance & Consulting (AAC) within the UK/EMEA market. The Business Development Manager will collaborate closely with cross-practice partners to develop, define, and execute a comprehensive strategy for AAC, fostering collaboration and driving client engagement.

The position requires seamless collaboration across the Clients & Markets team to ensure a unified approach to business development and growth.

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience in a professional services business development environment, ideally within a consulting or legal setting.
  • Demonstrated success in coaching teams and managing complex projects or initiatives.
  • A strong commercial acumen and an innovative mindset for developing and refining business strategies.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build trusting relationships with partners, senior management, and internal stakeholders.
  • Enthusiastic and proactive, with the ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear and persuasive interaction with peers and influential decision-makers.
  • A strategic thinker with a strong focus on execution and results.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to influence effectively at all levels within an organization.
  • Previous experience in a client-facing role, including conducting client listening sessions and gathering valuable feedback.
  • Ability to build credibility and influence stakeholders through strong executive presence and communication skills.
