Job Title: Principal Engineer - Product Safety Engineering

BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer - Product Safety Engineering to join our team. As a key member of our Product Safety Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our products throughout the development process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement safety analysis and assessment activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams to ensure safety considerations are integrated into product development.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate safety risks.
  • Develop and maintain safety documentation and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in Industrial Controls Systems.
  • TUV Functional Safety Expert certification.
  • Experience in software and hardware development.
  • Knowledge of IEC 61508 or IEC 61511 standards.
Desirable Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of Cyber Safety.
  • Understanding of Defence Standards.
  • Previous experience in the Defence Industry.
  • Submarine Engineering experience.
