Job Title: Principal Engineer - Product Safety

BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer - Product Safety to join our team. As a key member of our Product Safety Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our products throughout the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct safety risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety considerations are integrated into product design and development.
  • Provide training and guidance to colleagues on safety procedures and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and regulatory changes to ensure our products remain safe and compliant.
Requirements:
  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in industrial controls systems and functional safety.
  • Strong knowledge of IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
