About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced pharmacist to join our team as a Specialist Rotational Pharmacist. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and progressive pharmacy team at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the day-to-day delivery of aseptic, quality assurance, and clinical trial services in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice, Good Clinical Practice, and nationally agreed standards.
  • Support the preparation and release of cytotoxic, CIVAS, and PN products, as well as the quality assurance program for manufacturing and clinical trial services.
  • Train and support others rotating through the department.
Requirements
  • Professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • MPharm or equivalent, or BPharm/BSc Hons for those qualified before 2002.
  • Evidence portfolio to demonstrate mandatory continuing professional development (CPD) to maintain fitness to practice.
  • Previous experience of working in a manufacturing unit and clinical trials.
  • Working knowledge of quality assurance, aseptics, and clinical trials formulation, stability, legal issues, and relevant policies.
  • Working knowledge of isolators and laminar air flow technology.
  • Factual and working knowledge of materials and equipment necessary for the preparation of aseptically manufactured products within a clean room environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice, Good Clinical Practice, Health and Safety, COSHH, and National Standards.
  • Knowledge of NHS, Local, Regional, and National Standards.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
  • Training or coaching/mentoring skills and staff appraisal.
  • Experience of clinical/QA audits/practice research.
  • Management, training, and supervision of staff.
