Job Title: Treasurer and Financial Manager

The Board of Trustees at Business & Human Rights Resource Centre is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Treasurer and Financial Manager to join our team. As a key member of the Board, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and stability of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor the charity's financial standing and provide regular reports to the Board on cash-flow forecasting, income streams, and outgoing expenses.
  • Oversee the charity's financial risk-management process and report financial health to the Board at regular intervals.
  • Act as a counter signatory for online payments and applications to funders, and ensure that annual accounts are submitted to all relevant regulators in a timely fashion.
  • Liaise with external auditors on financial issues and ensure that the organization's finances are responsibly managed and invested for the betterment of our work and for the beneficiaries we serve.
Requirements:
  • Qualified accountant with demonstrated commercial awareness and knowledge.
  • Knowledge of charity SORP and impending changes.
  • Competent use of IT skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate and explain financial information to members of the Board and other stakeholders.
  • Analytical and evaluation skills, demonstrating good judgement.
  • Understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities, and liabilities of trusteeship.
  • Good communication and leadership skills.
