The position of Shift Manager is crucial in assisting the franchisee to guarantee that the establishment operates smoothly and profitably while adhering to company guidelines and protocols. You will directly oversee, mentor, and motivate all team members to ensure they deliver complete customer satisfaction and high-quality products consistently while managing expenses and enhancing sales.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Oversight: Manage the daily operations of the restaurant, supporting the General Restaurant Manager in developing food offerings and services.
  • Performance Management: Implement strategies to improve restaurant performance, including sales and profitability metrics.
  • Marketing Initiatives: Execute marketing campaigns, such as promotional events and discount programs.
  • Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports at the end of each shift/week, covering staff management, food control, waste management, and sales performance.
  • Sales and Staff Development: Create and implement plans aimed at boosting departmental sales, profitability, and employee growth.
Stock Management:
  • Order and requisition food and supplies necessary for uninterrupted operations.
  • Conduct weekly/daily orders to maintain stock levels and ensure timely placement of special orders.
  • Collaborate with other Supervisors and Managers to coordinate stock deliveries and maintain accurate records.
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with established standards.
Training and Development:
  • Provide training and ongoing support to staff members, with suitable training provided to the successful candidate.
  • Ensure that staff maintain a professional appearance and are prepared for work.
  • Maintain secure, organized, and clean storage areas to uphold high standards of quality control, hygiene, and safety.
  • Ensure food quality and presentation meet company standards.
  • Foster a polite and efficient team that consistently delivers exceptional service.
  • Engage with customers to ensure satisfaction and address any queries or complaints effectively.
  • Conduct thorough training on health and safety procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Identify potential revenue enhancement opportunities.
  • Possess knowledge of ingredients and cooking methods to assist customers.
  • Prepare duty rosters while ensuring cleanliness and hygiene standards are met.
  • Support colleagues as needed.
  • Minimize waste effectively.
  • Exhibit teamwork skills and the ability to motivate others while maintaining excellent customer service under pressure.
  • Hold a basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Conduct daily staff briefings to ensure punctuality and availability for shifts.
  • Monitor and record temperatures of refrigeration units hourly.
  • Coordinate maintenance of the restaurant as necessary.
