About the Role

Lagans Foundation is a leading provider of specialist home healthcare to children aged 0 to 19. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Children's Health Care Worker to join our team in Greater Manchester.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Area Care Team Leader in managing an internal care team to deliver a high-quality care service.
  • Deliver care to children aged 0 to 19 years within their own homes and in the community, promoting positive life experiences and choices.
  • Develop a team of carers and build strong relationships with other staff and families to provide exceptional care at every stage.
  • Complete Level 2 TQUK Care for children and infants with heart defects and feeding difficulties, as well as induction and leadership training.
  • Manage on-call out-of-hours calls on a rota with the management team and attend team meetings to share best practice and resolve challenges.
  • Support the Area Care Team Leader with team member supervisions and observation, and provide exceptional care including feedback within dedicated communication channels.
Requirements
  • Proven experience working with children and young people.
  • Clean Children's Workforce DBS (we can complete this application if you do not hold a DBS already).
  • Ability to embrace and drive change, with a positive work attitude and personality to uplift and inspire a care team.
  • Good understanding of the Care Quality Commission and what it regulates.
  • Effective prioritisation and time management, with a strong work ethic and ability to build and establish effective relationships.
  • Confident and skilled communicator (verbal and written English), with customer service orientation and good attention to detail.
  • Resilient and able to work independently as well as in a collaborative busy team environment.
  • Full driving licence with own car (business use car insurance is essential).

Person Specification
  • GCSE Maths and English Grade C and above or equivalent.
  • Level 2 Health and Social Care or L2 Care in the Community for infants and children with Heart Defects or Feeding Issues.
  • L3 Health and Social Care (desirable).
