About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Children's Residential Care Team Leader to join our team at Swanton Care & Community Ltd. As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support to children with learning disabilities, enabling them to achieve their full potential and live fulfilling lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the management team in ensuring the highest standard of care is provided to children and young people.
- Develop and implement individual care plans, taking into account the unique needs and goals of each child.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a safe, clean, and secure environment for all children and young people.
- Provide guidance and support to junior staff members, promoting their professional development and well-being.
- Contribute to the recruitment, training, and development of staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide excellent care.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote the well-being of children and young people.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Act as a role model, promoting a positive and respectful culture within the care team.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a residential care setting, working with children with learning disabilities.
- Relevant qualifications in childcare or social work, or willingness to complete within a specified timeframe.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, young people, and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet the needs of children and young people.
- Knowledge of current legislation and regulatory requirements, including the Children's Act and the Care Standards Act.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
