We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sterilisation and Disinfection Unit Technician to join our team at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and care by maintaining and operating our sterilisation and disinfection equipment.
Main Responsibilities- Operate and maintain sterilisation and disinfection equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Conduct regular quality control checks on equipment and supplies to ensure compliance with NHS standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless integration of sterilisation and disinfection services into patient care pathways.
- Develop and implement effective procedures for the handling, storage, and disposal of medical equipment and supplies.
- Provide training and support to colleagues on sterilisation and disinfection procedures and protocols.
- Good standard of education with literacy and numeracy skills.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use software applications relevant to the role.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of infection control procedures and protocols.
