Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to join our team as a Community Nursery Nurse. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, delivering high-quality services to families and children in Barnet.

Main Responsibilities

As a Community Nursery Nurse, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme across schools in Barnet. You will develop relationships with school nurseries to enhance the school readiness programme and work closely with health and early years staff to provide a comprehensive service to families.

You will be expected to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, and have high levels of clinical skills, with the ability to identify, respond to, and evaluate health needs. You will also be required to work with the local electronic patient record system and participate in training and supervision to ensure you are up-to-date with the latest policies and procedures.

Requirements
  • CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Child Care or equivalent and Education & 4 GCSEs, including English and maths (A –C)
  • Excellent communication skills: IT, written and oral
  • High levels of clinical skills, with the ability to identify, respond to, and evaluate health needs
  • Knowledge of current legislation and national guidance
  • Understanding of the safeguarding process and child protection procedures, clinical governance arrangements, and the ability to make decisions in these areas
  • Ability to set personal objectives, and manage time, priorities, and stressful situations
  • Ability to delegate work appropriately and safely
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Commitment to the development of excellent services, which focus on improved outcomes for children
  • Awareness of Equal Opportunities and Valuing Diversity
  • Knowledge of infection control standards
  • Experience of working with families in a nursery/community setting
