Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Gulfstream Aerospace. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cost-effective and efficient procedures to purchase commodities in accordance with product specifications and user requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop sources of supply and obtain information from suppliers concerning product and/or service specifications, price, delivery dates, etc.
- Prepare solicitations requesting quotes, receive and evaluate bids, and negotiate optimum delivery schedules and the best combination of price, quantity discount, product quality, and standard terms and conditions.
- Communicate with user departments to ensure their requirements are met.
- Prepare definitive purchase orders, including terms and conditions, make award, and administer contracts with suppliers within budgetary limitations.
- Monitor supplier performance and prepare reports and other records pertaining to the items or services purchased, cost, delivery, product or service performance, supplier performance, and/or inventories.
- Resolve problems related to purchasing, delivery, receiving, and payment to the supplier by taking appropriate corrective action.
Additional Responsibilities
- Responsible for indirect/commercial purchases and continuous improvement and cost savings opportunities within those order categories.
Requirements
A-level completion required. Entry-level purchasing or related experience preferred. Basic knowledge in purchasing methods and techniques or preferred. Working towards level 3 CIPS.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time position with up to 25% travel.
