About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and qualified mental health practitioner to lead our therapy team in delivering person-centred, outcome-focused interventions for children and young people experiencing moderate mental health difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive assessments and formulations of presenting problems, taking into account the child's educational attainment, chronological and developmental stage, inner world, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Design and deliver short-term interventions utilising behavioural, cognitive, psychodynamic, and systemic perspectives, as indicated by the formulation and the needs of the client.
  • Supervise team members in the delivery of therapeutic interventions, working independently and adapting to suit service needs.
  • Develop and maintain links with other agencies and services, ensuring effective signposting and onward referrals.
  • Manage risk and respond proactively to child protection and safeguarding issues.
Requirements
  • Professional registration with a recognised national body (e.g. HCPC, NMC, BACP, BABCP, BASW, TRA) or CBT qualification.
  • Significant post-qualification experience in working with children and young people, with a focus on mental health and wellbeing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with children, young people, and their families.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of child development, family dynamics, and mental health clinical evidence-based practice.
