Job Title: Senior Care Assistant

As a Senior Care Assistant at Highwood Care Home, you will play a vital role in leading our care team and ensuring our residents receive the highest standard of care. You will be responsible for creating a warm and supportive environment, coordinating shifts, and leading by example.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate the care team to ensure smooth running of the home and create a positive atmosphere.
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, prioritizing their dignity and independence.
  • Oversee medication management, including ordering, administration, and documentation.
  • Engage with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure clear and compassionate communication.
  • Foster a team ethos, promoting a supportive environment for all staff.
  • Welcome visitors and show prospective residents and families around the home's facilities.
  • Respond promptly to emergency call bells and provide or call for assistance as needed.
  • Write and update care plans, risk assessments, and case notes to reflect residents' needs and wishes.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and e-learning to develop your skills and knowledge.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety policies, including COSHH, and escalate concerns to management.
Requirements:
  • SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care is essential.
  • Practical Medication Administration with competencies is required.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team, delegating tasks effectively.
  • Compassionate nature with a sense of fun and a commitment to person-centred care.
