About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Locum Consultant to join our award-winning Diabetes and Endocrinology Team on a fixed term 6 month post. The successful candidate will be supporting the opening of our brand new facility, the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH), and will be expected to deliver care to a ward of 16 General Medical inpatients, some outliers as well as providing specialist advice in DM and Endo to other teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care to a ward of 16 General Medical inpatients, including some outliers.
  • Provide specialist advice in Diabetes and Endocrinology to other teams.
  • Support the opening of the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) and contribute to the development of our new acute hospital.

Person Specification
  • Medical qualification (e.g. MBBS etc)
  • MRCP or equivalent
  • Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining CCT in Diabetes and Endocrinology and also GIM
  • Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the management of acute medical emergencies
  • Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the care of patients
