About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to patients with diabetes and endocrine disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist care to patients with diabetes and endocrine disorders, including pituitary disorders, thyroid, metabolic bone and calcium disorders, adrenal disorders, reproductive disorders, and neuroendocrine tumours.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, dietitians, and podiatrists, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of integrated care pathways with primary care, one-stop clinics, remote monitoring, and increased use of point-of-care testing.
  • Participate in research and education activities, including clinical trials and teaching medical students and junior doctors.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • MRCP or equivalent.
  • CCT in General Medicine/Diabetes/Endocrinology or equivalent.
