About the Role
We are seeking compassionate and experienced Support Workers to join our team in providing exceptional care to a sociable young lady residing in Durham. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference in her life while developing your clinical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalized support with daily living activities, including personal care, moving and handling, and attending to her clinical needs as required.
- Accompany her on outings and social engagements, such as bowling, cinema visits, theatre performances, and pantomimes.
- Foster a positive and nurturing environment at home, encouraging her engagement in arts and crafts activities and favorite television programs.
- Offer reassurance and comfort throughout the night, ensuring a peaceful sleep environment while providing attentive care and close observation.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 3 months of previous care experience.
- Proven ability to administer medication safely and effectively.
- Experience in providing personal care and assisting with moving and handling.
Preferred Qualifications (Desirable)
- Tracheostomy care experience.
- Oral suctioning proficiency.
- Gastrostomy care (PEG feeding) knowledge.
- Ventilation management skills.
- Experience working with challenging behaviors.
