Job Description

Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer - Technical Lead

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team as a Technical Lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing electrical engineering services and guidance on all our electrical systems, ensuring correct operation within the Data Centre specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in optimizing electrical systems to provide high levels of efficiency, resiliency, and reliability.
  • Review and sign-off critical switching and complex RAMS for electrical work.
  • Complete HV/LV switching, HV SAP duties, supporting AP appointments, and managing Authorized Persons.
  • Validate electrical SOP/EOPs.
  • Assist the incident manager and customer operational team with technical information needed for incident reports.
  • Assist the Electrical Engineering Manager in drafting specification documents for new builds and other electrical projects.
  • Review, comment on, and nominate subcontractor design documentation.
  • Organize training for Critical/Shift engineers/supervisors/shift leaders on any electrical systems, ad hoc or planned.
  • Assist with the commissioning of existing upgrades and new builds, leading electrical elements where required, and sign-off of electrical systems.
  • Take ownership of any key electrical issues and push progression, ensuring the ticketing system is up to date.
  • Assist the Technical Department to ensure compliance with Electrical Health & Safety related policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • City and Guilds Electrical Installation Parts 1 & 2 (or equivalent)
  • Inspection and Testing City and Guilds 2391 (or equivalent)
  • 18th Edition BS7671 Wiring Regulation
  • High Voltage Electrical Switching Operations Training
  • First Aid Training
  • HNC/HND Electrical Engineering (preferable)
  • Work towards professional registration (C-eng, IEng, EngTec)
  • Critical Environment/Data Centre experience (preferable)
  • Previous experience as HV/LV AP/SAP completing complex switching programs.
  • Good knowledge of switchgear and associated equipment.
  • Good IT experience in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Good communication skills to ensure the ability to work across different departments and regions.
