Job Title: Dispenser

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately and efficiently dispense NHS prescriptions to patients
  • Handle dispensed medications and address patient inquiries in a professional manner
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to patient queries
  • Assist with stock ordering and management to ensure seamless operations
  • Issue repeat medications in accordance with practice policies
  • Adhere to dispensary procedures at all times to maintain high standards

Job Requirements

  • Deal with requests for repeat prescriptions through our computerized system
  • Dispense medications to patients and verify accuracy to ensure patient safety
  • Maintain stock levels of drugs and consumables to prevent stockouts
  • Ensure correct drug orders and handle special orders in a timely manner
  • Prescribe medications according to established guidelines and protocols
  • Maintain a clean and organized dispensary environment to ensure efficiency and safety

Person Specification

Experience and Qualifications

  • Proven customer service experience in a healthcare setting
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing priorities and situations
  • Experience working in Primary Care is highly desirable
  • SystmOne experience is also highly desirable

Education and Certifications

  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths, Grade C or above
  • Dispensary NVQ Level 2 is highly desirable
