Clinical Responsibilities

Clinical Services

  • Offer expert advice on medication usage while ensuring adherence to safety protocols
  • Enhance medication management practices and document any adverse effects
  • Assist in the introduction of new antimicrobials and the development of clinical guidelines

Training and Development

  • Conduct educational sessions for pharmacy personnel and other healthcare staff
  • Engage in pre-registration training and ongoing professional development
  • Maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge and pursue continuous learning opportunities

Additional Responsibilities

  • Undertake supplementary tasks as required within the service
  • Participate in on-call responsibilities and weekend pharmacy operations

Qualifications and Skills

Essential Requirements

  • Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) degree and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Clinical Diploma or in the process of obtaining it
  • Continuing Professional Development (CPD) portfolio

Desirable Qualifications

  • Membership with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) and Independent Prescribing Certificate
  • Membership in a relevant specialist organization
