Patient Pathway Coordinator

The successful candidate will work in a standard office environment, with a shift pattern that aligns with standard office hours. The salary for this part-time position will be pro-rata.

This role requires close collaboration with the Multi-Disciplinary Team and associated clerical staff. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the timely movement of cancer and potential cancer patients through their journey from referral onwards. Additionally, they will facilitate the collection, analysis, and presentation of cancer waiting times data.

The main base for this role is Inverclyde Royal Hospital, with occasional travel to other sites within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the timely movement of cancer and potential cancer patients through their journey from referral onwards.
  • Facilitate the collection, analysis, and presentation of cancer waiting times data.
  • Work closely with the Multi-Disciplinary Team and associated clerical staff to achieve shared goals.

Requirements

  • HNC/SVQIII in Business Administration, Information Management, or Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of software systems, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Advanced keyboard skills.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of computer systems used in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
  • Medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of cancer and cancer referral pathways.

NHS Scotland is reducing its full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week, with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro-rata for part-time staff. The successful candidate may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which they will be paid.
