Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Ophthalmologist to join our team. As a leading provider of ophthalmic services, we are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing the field of ophthalmology.
Main Responsibilities- Lead the Medical Retina service across Barts Health, with a focus on The Royal London Hospital.
- Manage a consultant-led clinic, with a high volume of patients, and oversee the junior doctors and optometrist's clinic profiles.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and development of the Medical Retina service at RLH.
- Participate in the three-tier RLH on-call rota and assume responsibility for the management of junior medical staff.

Person Specification- Higher degree in Ophthalmology (MD/PhD)
- Full GMC Registration
- Professional Training in Ophthalmology (CCT or equivalent)
- FRCOphth or equivalent Fellowship in Medical Retina
- Experience with high volume cataract surgery, specialist training in Medical Retina, and experience in Intra-vitreal Injections and Ophthalmic laser
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals in the field of Ophthalmology
