Consultant Ophthalmologist - Medical Retina and Cataracts

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist to join our team at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Ophthalmologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical retina and cataract services to patients in the North Central London area.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide expert medical retina and cataract services to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of complex eye conditions.
  • Supervise and train specialty trainees, clinical scientists, and other junior trainees in medical retina and cataract services.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of quality improvement and clinical audit initiatives to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Contribute to the development and review of policies and procedures related to medical retina and cataract services.
  • Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs to educate medical students and junior doctors.
Requirements
  • Eligibility for Specialist Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Completion of a higher specialist training program in ophthalmology or equivalent experience.
  • Strong clinical and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with patients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
