Lead Test Automation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Test Automation Engineer to join our team at RedRock Resourcing in Bristol. As a key member of our delivery team, you will play a crucial role in driving the quality and reliability of our software products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, optimise and maintain the current automation framework
  • Lead and expand test automation throughout the organisation
  • Work closely with the Test Manager to own the strategic improvement of automation
  • Coach the existing QA team in automation

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience of Test Automation in an Agile environment
  • Demonstrable experience of pro-active leading and coaching of automation
  • Substantial understanding of unit, integration, and cross browser testing approaches
  • Experience in the development of automation frameworks and technical non-functional testing
  • Experience of using cross browser testing services like Browserstack Automate or Sauce Labs
  • A thorough understanding of the software development life cycle

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:

  • Extensive automation experience in various languages/frameworks including C#, TypeScript and ideally Playwright
  • Significant API testing experience
  • Excellent knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices
  • Experience of building automation frameworks from the ground up
  • Understanding of what, when and how to automate complex test cases
