Senior Test Automation Lead - RedRock Resourcing

RedRock Resourcing is seeking a Senior Test Automation Lead to drive the quality and reliability of software products. The successful candidate will play a key role in reviewing, optimising and maintaining the current automation framework, as well as leading and expanding test automation throughout the organisation.

Working closely with the Test Manager, you will own the strategic improvement of automation throughout Delivery and be responsible for coaching the existing QA team in automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of automation frameworks and technical non-functional testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for automation and develop strategies for implementation.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the software development life cycle and its application to automation.
  • Provide leadership and coaching in automation, including training and mentoring junior team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in automation.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience of Test Automation in an Agile environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of pro-active leading and coaching of automation.
  • Substantial understanding of unit, integration, and cross browser testing approaches.
  • Experience in the development of automation frameworks and technical non-functional testing.
  • Experience of using cross browser testing services like Browserstack Automate or Sauce Labs.
  • A thorough understanding of the software development life cycle.

Desirable Skills:

  • Extensive automation experience in various languages/frameworks including C#, TypeScript and ideally Playwright.
  • Significant API testing experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience of building automation frameworks from the ground up.
  • Understanding of what, when and how to automate complex test cases.
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to explain technical techniques/issues to a non-technical audience.
  • A top-class coach, with a track-record of leading and guiding inexperienced teams in test automation.
