About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Manager to join our team at The Lowry. As a key member of our technical department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our theatres and events spaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the technical aspects of productions and events, including sound, lighting, and staging.
  • Work closely with other technical managers and the head of technical services to ensure a high level of technical support and expertise.
  • Provide technical support to all areas of the business, including customer-facing services.
  • Supervise and train staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Develop and implement technical solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our technical operations.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical role, preferably in a producing or receiving theatre.
  • Strong skills in all theatrical disciplines, including sound, audio visual, flying, rigging, staging, and theatre principles and processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, artists, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends, bank holidays, and evenings, as required.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
