We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our team at Holme Lacy House Hotel, a leading hotel in the Warner Leisure Hotels group.

About the Role

As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure the smooth operation of our kitchens, adhering to the highest standards of health and safety, food quality, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Oversee the kitchen team, ensuring effective communication, teamwork, and a culture of support.
  • Manage food stocks, orders, and forecasts to optimize efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Monitor and control kitchen costs, ensuring they align with the department's budget.
  • Develop and implement new recipes, menus, and cooking techniques to enhance the dining experience.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, health and safety, and kitchen management practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Good financial management skills, with experience of managing kitchen budgets.
