About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Business Teacher to join our education team at HMP Rye Hill. As a Business Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality Business lessons to groups of up to 16 learners, equipping them with essential business skills to secure future employment opportunities post-release.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Business lessons to groups of up to 16 learners, using a range of teaching methods to engage and motivate students.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of learners, using a range of resources and materials.
  • Assess and record learner progress, providing feedback and guidance to support learners in achieving their goals.
  • Work collaboratively with the education team to develop and implement education programs that meet the needs of learners.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and supportive learning environment, promoting learner engagement and motivation.
Requirements
  • A teaching qualification or subject specialist qualification at Level 4 (Level 5 - new standards) with a commitment to obtain the relevant outstanding Level 4 (Level 5 - new standards) qualification within a specified time scale.
  • Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy.
  • Gain/hold and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • Have a history of working effectively with people presenting challenging behaviour.
