Senior Structural Engineer - Offshore Wind

We are working with a leading global consultancy to expand their team with a Senior Structural Engineer specializing in Offshore Wind. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative solutions for offshore wind turbine generator assets.

As a Senior Engineer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for delivering structural engineering projects for major offshore wind turbine generator assets. Your expertise will be essential in designing and analyzing both fixed and floating structures to meet the growing demands of the offshore renewables sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and analyze offshore structures, including fixed and floating foundation design for offshore wind turbine generators and substations, considering site-specific hydrodynamic loads and environmental conditions.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver structural engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry design standards and certification requirements.
  • Assess, review, and interpret technical inputs required for offshore structural design.
  • Prepare technical reports and supervise the drafting of manufacturing drawings for the designs created.
  • Ensure that all design work under your purview is performed, reviewed, checked, and approved in accordance with engineering procedures or as specified in a Project Quality Plan.
Requirements:
  • Years of relevant experience in the offshore industry, with a focus on either primary or secondary steel design, preferably for offshore wind turbine generator foundations.
  • Master's degree in Offshore Structures, Ocean Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a relevant discipline, with an excellent understanding of Structural Mechanics and Hydrodynamics.
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.
  • Proficiency in the use of SESAM or SACS software is considered ideal, although practical experience with comparable software can also be considered.
  • A team player with good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse working environments.
  • Knowledge in programming and scripting skills (Python or VBA) is considered an advantage, but not mandatory.
