About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team at International Automotive Components Group Limited. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our Laboratory Manager and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Laboratory Manager in maintaining the laboratory facility and equipment, ensuring strict safety procedures and safety checks are followed.
  • Perform laboratory tests and analyses to produce reliable and precise data to support scientific investigations.
  • Carry out routine tasks accurately and follow strict methodologies to conduct analyses as required.
  • Prepare specimens and samples for testing.
  • Dispose of chemicals and waste products safely.
  • Construct, maintain, and operate standard laboratory equipment, including glossmeters, microscopes, and tensile machines.
  • Perform measurements using traditional measurement equipment, such as micrometers, calipers, and DTIs.
  • Analyze data and use statistical techniques to evaluate product and generate informative reports.
  • Use computers and perform mathematical calculations to prepare graphs.
  • Record and interpret results to present to senior colleagues.
  • Prepare reports and use problem-solving techniques to assist in internal and external quality concerns.
  • Support at customer sites when required.
Requirements
  • Ability to work unsupervised, using your own initiative to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to learn specific, practical techniques and apply this knowledge.
  • Ability to use technical equipment accurately.
  • Ability to review data and generate informative reports.
  • Make informed decisions based on data and risk evaluation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain and calibrate technical equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • PC literate, including good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Good numeracy skills.
  • Previous experience in the automotive sector is desirable.
  • Previous experience in a laboratory environment is desirable.
  • Knowledge of plastic injection moulding, slush moulding, paint, and assembly high volume processes is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of problem-solving techniques is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of statistical techniques is desirable.
