About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Controller to join our team at New Appointments Group. As a Logistics Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and supply chain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of warehouse personnel to ensure they are suitably qualified and experienced to meet expected outputs.
  • Resource Coordination: Coordinate resource requests with other teams to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Inventory Management: Control material, consumables, and inventory of special project spares and associated clean room materials.
  • Supply Chain Support: Assist the Supply Chain Manager with daily management tasks.
  • Performance Monitoring: Meet operational standards of performance by identifying continuous improvements.
  • Compliance: Ensure that company policies and procedures are followed.
  • Shipping and Receiving: Ensure received items are booked in and located correctly within timeframes.
  • Kitting and Dispatch: Ensure that items are kitted for production in line with the production schedule and dispatched in a timely manner.
  • Inventory Management: Demonstrate the stores department are meeting their objectives of performance through measurement and monitoring of Key KPIs.
  • Stock Management: Ensure that inventory is managed using FIFO.
  • Commodity Management: Use appropriate commodity management methods such as Kanban.
  • Stock Takes: Carry out a perpetual stock take to ensure that 100% of inventory is checked on an annual basis, investigating and reconciling any discrepancies.
  • Warehouse Optimization: Maintain the warehouse though the best utilisation of space to maximise efficiency.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure vehicles, plant and equipment are maintained and available for use.
  • Export Compliance: Ensure all shipments comply with Export Controls & Dangerous Goods Controls.
Requirements
  • Education: GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths.
  • Experience: Experience of operating in a manufacturing environment.
  • Export Control: Experience in Export control.
  • Dangerous Goods: Experience in handling dangerous goods.
  • Computer Literacy: Computer literate. Use of ERP.
  • Warehouse Knowledge: Demonstrate an understanding on warehouse methods, principles, concepts, practices, and standards.
  • Health and Safety: Knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation.
  • Environmental Legislation: Knowledge of current Environmental legislation.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to react swiftly as situations change and/or develop.
  • Time Management: Effective communicator both written and orally.
  • Planning and Prioritization: Ability to plan, prioritise and effectively manage time and meet deadlines.
