Position Overview

This is a fixed-term opportunity for a Specialty Doctor in Oncology. The role is designed for a medical professional with full GMC registration and an MRCP qualification or equivalent, possessing valuable experience in cancer care and a solid understanding of oncological emergencies. Responsibilities will be tailored based on the appointee's experience and seniority.

The successful candidate will be expected to manage approximately six clinic sessions weekly, oversee the oncology emergency assessment area, oncology inpatient units, and chemotherapy administration, as well as review patients undergoing radiotherapy. Participation in the on-call rota alongside current Specialist Registrars is also required, with an on-call supplement applicable. Attendance at multidisciplinary team meetings and designated supporting professional activities (SPA) time will be included.

Key Responsibilities

We invite applications for a full-time Specialty Doctor position in Medical/Clinical Oncology. This role is suitable for a qualified doctor with full GMC registration and an MRCP qualification or equivalent, along with desirable experience in cancer treatment and essential knowledge of oncological emergencies. The specific responsibilities will be influenced by the seniority and prior experience of the selected candidate.

On average, the appointee will conduct six clinic sessions per week, manage the oncology emergency assessment bay, oversee oncology wards, and administer chemotherapy. The role also includes reviewing patients receiving radiotherapy and participating in the on-call rota with current Specialist Registrars (on-call supplement applies). Attendance at multidisciplinary team meetings and SPA time is also part of the role.
