About the Role

We Are Survivors is seeking a qualified and experienced Trauma Informed Therapist to join our team in delivering trauma-informed therapy services in prisons across the Northwest of England.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality trauma-informed therapy services to male survivors of sexual abuse, rape, and sexual exploitation.
  • Work closely with the Criminal Justice Services Director and Service Manager to develop and implement trauma-informed projects.
  • Engage in peer-support of OUT Spoken Services staff and contribute to the development of the organisation's trauma-informed model.
  • Accurately record OUT Spoken interventions and maintain confidentiality boundaries.
  • Attend internal and external meetings to contribute to the development of the organisation's services and policies.
Requirements
  • Registration with BACP, NCS, or UKCP (or similar).
  • Diploma in Counselling/Psychotherapy (or equivalent) and Safeguarding Children/Adults Level 1.
  • Experience of providing 1:1 support or advocacy to adults and/or young people with vulnerabilities.
  • Ability to work in a prison setting and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
